Welcome Back to NSMS – First Day of School Information (2025)

We hope you had a fantastic summer and are looking forward to the new school year. The first day of school this year is Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and we’re excited to welcome all students back!

First Day Overview

• Shortened Day: Students will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m.
• Bus Pickup: Between 10:30 and 10:45

Arrival Times

• Grade 6 Students:
  • Please arrive by 8:50 a.m. and gather near the Hawk’s Nest (play structure).
  • Staff will be outside to greet and guide students.
  • Division lists will be posted with student names.
  • At 9:00 a.m., students will be called to the field (or gym if raining) to meet their advisory teacher.
• Grade 7 & 8 Students:
  • Division lists will be posted at 9:20 a.m.
  • At 9:30 a.m., students will be called to the field to meet their teacher.

Supplies

• Please do not bring school supplies on the first day.
• Supplies can be brought once lockers have been assigned.

Important Dates

• Wednesday, September 3: Regular school hours (9:00 a.m. – 3:08 p.m.). Homeroom-based day. Bring lunch and only essential supplies.
• Thursday, September 4: First full day of classes, including PE and FAAS.

Bus Information

Students who will be taking the bus can find schedules and route details on the Saanich Schools website. Staff will be available to help students find the correct bus.
